Charges: Driving While Suspended-Criminally

Description: On September 23rd, 2025 at approximately 1413 hours a Deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office while on patrol in the Town of Vernon conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a traffic violation.
Subsequent investigation revealed the operator identified a John D. Winter age 41 of Brattleboro VT had a criminally suspended license in the State of Vermont. Winter was placed under arrest and transported back to the Windham County Sheriff's Office for processing. Winter's was released on a criminal citation to appear at the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date. He was also issued a traffic ticket for operating a motor vehicle while using a cellular device.
